Not dead yet, but Gary Gygax failed his saving thr

Journal Entry: Sat Mar 8, 2008, 8:50 PM
Hey, not dead yet, just been on a creativity hiatus. I've been looking at so many artwork from Deviantart and every time it amazes me how many works of great imagination and expression impresses me to the point where I knock myself in the head and ask "Why am I not doing better!?" and find more inspiration for other ideas. I've been doodling so much on my sketchbook that its starting to help my creative process.

However, I know this is sorta late, but I was deeply saddened Gary Gygax, co-founder and alfather of Dungeons and Dragons and the entire role-playing game genre and industry, passed away to the Outer Realms recently.

I know I know, I still keep thinking about bad, nerdy D&D jokes like he failed saving vs. natural cause, his hitpoints where -12, or too bad there's no cleric in sight, however I can't help but feel sad that this great man who was responsible for my interest in playing RPG's was suddenly gone. I never met the man, but I certainly praise his work.

So, I salute a goblet of victory to you Gary Gygax! May you still DM and your dice roll always 20!

Just make sure its your opponent that receives it.

Summer's too soon...

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 14, 2007, 11:45 AM
Summer has come inevitably and I stuck with various situations that are completely different than the mundanity of my daily attempts of a "schedule."

The search for the elusive "right" part-time job continues right now and it is sadly sucking up so much time away from what I do best: making artwork.

maybe I should create artwork based on the stress and difficulty of job-searching.... that might be an idea.... not a GOOD or BAD idea, just an idea... hmm...

I should get paid to go to college....

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 14, 2006, 9:35 PM
Honestly, I think I should get paid to go to college.

Seriously, think about this. In majority of your art classes, ESPECIALLY your 100 level art classes have you doing the most inane assignments that you think are the suxxorz and a waste of your valuable time when you could've used said time and work on your matter that you deem worthy.

It's like a commission, the art professors (certain people who think their own brand of art holds more validity than others) are the clients who want this type of product and you the "art machine" has to go dish it out no matter how sucky the assignment.

You know.... they SHOULD pay us to do these assignments. Saves tuition money that way.

Stupid stupid haitus....

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 28, 2006, 11:31 PM
I freaking hate haituses....

After taking a break from college and getting a job for some spending money for Summer has given me a brain fart, literally. So many times I got tired and didn't want to pick up that pencil.

Doesn't that really suck to lose such fire for art?

What little time I have now I started to "re-draw". Yippee.

Alan Lee...

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 8, 2005, 4:24 PM
I have a profound respect of Alan Lee. Being a fan of Tolkien's work, Lee's lurid, watercolor artwork brings the pages of The Lord of the Rings to an otherwordly quality that best describes how the images of the events are carried out.

His work combines new age and mythology to a visionary adaption I had ever seen concerning in adapting the words from text to color and drawings.

May Alan Lee's work remain immortal throughout time and available to other eyes that have yet to see the magnitude of his pieces.
